Converting Open Broadcast Software (OBS) Presentations into Video

To convert presentations made using OBS into video files, follow these general steps:

  1. Set Up Your Presentation Recording: Open OBS and add necessary sources such as Display Capture to record your screen or PowerPoint presentation, and Audio Input Capture to record your voice. You can also add a Video Capture Device if you want to include webcam footage.

  2. Record Your Presentation: Once your sources are added and arranged, hit "Start Recording" to begin capturing your presentation. OBS will record any scene changes you make while presenting, such as switching between full-screen slides and your webcam.

  3. Save and Convert: After stopping the recording, OBS will save the file in the default format (usually .mkv or .flv). To convert it to .mp4, go to File > Remux Recordings in OBS, select your saved file, and convert it into the desired format.
